Access

Arriving at the start of the tour is convenient whether you come by car or public transport. If driving from Villach along the northern shore of Lake Ossiach, simply head towards St. Urban, near Bodensdorf. Once there, park your vehicle conveniently next to a sports field. For those utilizing public transportation, the St. Urban am Ossiacher See train station provides easy access.

Approach to start

Follow the signs to Peterlewand on paths 2, then 7, up to the rock walls base.

The routes

There are several routes available here, with different grades, including a small practice via ferrata for children, located shortly before the main rock walls.

The most difficult segment on the harder D route is a slightly overhanging corner crossing, where good footwork and straight arms are important.

Descent

Follow the obvious hiking trail back to the base of the wall to climb another route, or further down to the starting point.

Good to know

  • Many sport climbing routes are also bolted at this crag.
